Cranes player ratings against Senegal 10-man Cranes played their hearts out, but lost to a hungry Senegal side in a 2014 World Cup qualifier in Marrakech, Morocco. MTNFootball brings you the player ratings Robert Odongkara – 7 The fast improving goalkeeper made some good saves, but generally was not kept so busy for long spells of the match. Denis Iguma – 6 He basically had a fair day and made a few runs of the right flank. He seems like a player more comfortable in the midfield that the right back. Godfrey Walusimbi – 2 The usually steady defender had a dark day after he was sent off in the 36th minute after a silly tackle. He started the game well, but was occasionally out muscled to the ball. Isaac Isinde – 5 Although the St George defender picked an early booking, he made some good clearances and also blocked a goal-bound shot later in the second half. He however started the game with a very rough approach. Andrew Mwesigwa -6 The skipper who played after passing a late fitness test did not look comfortable when the game started, but got better in the second half. He was poor at reading the game and in some situations gave the opponents lots of space. Hassan Wasswa Mawanda - 6 The experienced midfielder matched the Senegal players in strength and was good in blocking the moves in the centre of the pitch. He however made some blind passes that almost costs the team. Hamis Kiiza - 7 The Tanzania-based striker made a number of good runs as he showed confidence and hunger to go upfront. He had the greatest chance to score, but failed to get the ball in the back of the net which perhaps would have changed the situation on the pitch before The Teranga Lions scored. Geoffrey Kizito – 5 He also had one of those quiet days and was later replaced by the coach Micho. He started well in the first half with good interception, but was lacking defensively in the second half. Emmanuel Okwi – 8 He unlocked the Senegal defence on a number of occasions and had lots of energy to run down the opposition. However his two glaring misses should have given the Cranes chance to make it to the next level. Tonny Mawejje – 5 The Iceland based defensive midfielder did not have a very good day at the office and gave the Senegal team lots of space to run with the ball in his area. He was not very adventurous like he was in the game against Angola when he scored a goal. Brian Majwega – 6 The KCCA FC attacking midfielder was a surprise starter for the Cranes, but failed to make his runs on the left flank. He was well marked out by the Senegal defence and occasionally lacked ideas. Subs:Moses Oloya – 5 Martin Kayongo Mutumba - 4 Frank Kalanda - 3
