Crazy as it sounds my temp gauge seemed to be dropping from warm to cold when I was doing long journeys... Vtec wasnt working as temp was back to cold! Turns out its because the black plastic that normally covers the rad from the elements is missing. Quick fix haha cardboard and tap! Now long jorneys it will stay warm and vtec will work as it should! Rules out the head gasket being at fault! So now to check the thermostat...
