D800 Gets a Firmware Overhaul Nikon has released a major firmware update for their D800 and D800E HDSLRs as well as minor patches for the UT-1 transmitter and a few CoolPix cameras. This is the first significant update for the D800(E) since about this time last year. The update (v. A 1.10, B 1.10) brings with it something that I wish all Nikon cameras had. In addition to some compatibility updates, a cool image transfer mode, and AF fine-tune fix the D800(E) will now allow you to assign the movie record button. As a stills-guy, I’d love to use the movie record button for ISO changes on my D610 — here’s to hoping they bring this change to other models soon.
