DEADLINE EXTENDED: BAN Toxics is looking for a Finance and Administration Manager. We are looking for an energetic, efficient, and dedicated team player to run our exciting, busy, and growing office. The Finance & Administration Manager is a permanent full-time position starting June 15, 2014. Salary is at a competitive NGO rate. Job Description Working with BT’s Executive Director (ED), staff, and Board of Trustees, the Finance & Administration Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization. Within the overall areas of finance, human resources, and office administration, the Finance & Administration Manager takes on tasks including those listed below. Responsibilities A. Provide leadership to BT’s Finance and Administrative Division, especially in support of BT programmes and objectives. B. Finance Functions: • Oversee all accounting functions, among others, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and bank accounts; • Provide timely and effective financial reports for the Board and ED; • Creation of organizational and project budgets, working with the relevant staff and the ED; • Preparation and submission of the organizations statutory requirements, including but not limited to business registration, etc.; and • All other finance-related functions that the ED and Board may require. C. Administrative: • Manage all human resource functions, including hiring processes, policies and procedures, maintaining staff files, orientation, benefits, professional development, performance reviews and job descriptions; • Ensure that the appropriate facilities are available to staff, including office space, equipment and communication services; • Incoming and outgoing communications/files; • Procurement and maintenance of office equipment/furniture and fixtures; • Maintenance of office facilities; and • All other related administrative-related functions that the ED and Board may require. Qualifications • A bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting, Business Management, or equivalent. • Proven budget and financial management experience, with at least five (5) years work experience in similar or related fields, preferably with a not-for-profit. • Demonstrated experience multi-tasking in a busy, energetic office environment. • Proven ability to keep accurate, detailed records and filing systems. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. • Excellent computer skills in the Microsoft environment (a high level of proficiency in Excel is a must). • Personal commitment to, or interest in, the environment and sustainable development.
