DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS POST: ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS: OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR GENERAL: ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMMES (X2) (AP9035/2013) SALARY: R170 799 per annum (Total package of R251 156 conditions apply) CENTRE: CAPE TOWN REQUIREMENTS: A three year tertiary qualification in Public Management/ Office Management with relevant experience or a grade 12 certificate with extensive experience in an administrative or office environment. Knowledge of administrative or clerical procedures. Knowledge of Logis and BAS. Knowledge of Financial and Procurement procedures. Computer Literacy (packages such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Ms Word, GroupWise, and Internet). Good interpersonal,communication (verbal and written) and organising skills. Ability to work under pressure, and with difficult clients. Ability to work long hours with limited supervision. DUTIES: Provide administrative and document management support to the component; compile weekly progress reports to the Director, manage the filing system. Render financial support services; compile budget spread sheet, prepare BAS and monthly expenditure reports. Render logistical and travel arrangement; make bookings and arrange catering for meetings and for conferences and workshops, handle travelling claims and arrangements for the Director (book flights, rental cars and reserve accommodation). Render chief user services; request service providers from departmental database, advise officials on procedures to be followed in order to deliversatisfactory chief user functions, capture and approve requisitions on LOGIS. Provide inventory controller; maintain the directorate’s asset register and update the register when new equipment is acquired, conduct stocktaking of assets.
