DISCLAIMER To; 9th June, 2013 ALL CONCERNED. RE-IMPOSTER IN APGA SOUTH AFRICAN CHAPTER OF APGA With sad feelings, we, the one and only legitimate leadership of the one and only grass-rooted, ideologically based and duly registered South African chapter of All Progressives Grand Alliance, a political organization, duly recognized by the government of the Republic of South Africa, the Nigerian Diplomatic missions in South Africa and all community organizations and the general public of Nigerians resident in South Africa do hereby write to disclaim and distance ourselves from the shameful impersonation by one Mr. Henry Onyekumnaru. For the sake of clarity, permit us to take you through a briefing on the history of South African Chapter of All Progressives Grand Alliance, a Nigerian political party. Prior to the year 2010, different groups of interested APGA followers were organizing themselves and meeting at their different regions in the Republic of South Africa when on the 24th of June 2011 and after extensive consultation with all groups and Nigerian Community leaders in South Africa, a general meeting was called with the sole agenda to coalesce into one formidable APGA in South Africa. Rising from that open meeting, APGA South African Chapter was born, binding resolutions were taken and a seven-man board of Coordinators committee which include (1)Comrade Odinaka C. A. Emejuru as Chairman, (2) Chief Peter Nwoye (our current Secretary), (3) Comrade Kingsley Kanu as the Treasurer, (4) Chief Wisdom Edward as the spokesperson, board of Directors, (5) Comrade Samuel Amuliam, (6) Mr. Cyprain Nlem and (7) Mr. Kingsley Maduka as the then Secretary, was mandated to register and lead the new chapter into inauguration by the national leadership from Nigeria and to conduct a national (South African) convention to produce a nationally elected executive. By this 2010, Henry Onyekumnaru was still fighting for several positions in PDP South African Chapter. With the vision to encourage many more to participate in the development of the Chapter, the seven-man board of coordinators was increased to a 23-man board. This was achieved by the creation of (1) The Disciplinary Committee, (2) The Planning and Strategy Committee, PAGE 1 OF 4 (3) The Out-reach Committee and (4) The Finance Committee. The then 7-man Board of Coordinators committee reached a resolution to admit the Chairpersons and Secretaries of these new committees into the Board of Coordinators with a special provision for all others who think they can contribute more by membership in the National board of Coordinators but who were not Chairpersons and Secretaries of any of the four Committees to be admitted into the National Board of Coordinators through the Finance Committee that was led by Deacon Nnabugwu Ujoumunna. This was the window through which Henry Onyekumnaru and his friends came in as ordinary members of the Board of Coordinators and Henry was assigned to coordinate our members in the city of Durban where he claimed he lives in. We had a very successful 2011 with an induction course where our Interim National Chairman, Comrade Odinaka C. A. Emejuru organized and led a 5-man delegation to the then National Chairman; Chief Victor Umeh. At this time, Henry Onyekumnaru was not a member of APGA and was nowhere near that delegation. Because of the huge successes we made from the beginning, PDP and ACN in South Africa that have been here for more than five years each was awakened from their slumber as many of their members decamped and joined APGA. This was when Henry, who, without our notice, did not and still have not resigned from PDP, came and registered with APGA South Africa. By early 2012, the Henry onyekumnaru, whose profession is to reap where did not sow, started mobilizing to destabilize APGA. He even muscled his way to the then National Chairman whom for obvious reasons, referred him to return back to South African Chapter as led by Comrade Odinaka Emejuru as he has inducted that delegation on APGA principles. By the end of 2011, we had fixed our Chapter convention and election into office of our National executive council for April, 2012. The desperate Henry neglected our chapter’s resolutions and also did not heed to the instruction of the then National Chairman and as we may know what may have transpired between Henry and Chief Umeh, when it came to our notice that this same Henry, by the support of some APGA persons in the UK, have been parading himself as the Chairman of APGA in South Africa, we had cautioned him against that and as a way to maintain our respect for hierarchy, had requested the then National Chairman to give direction on the development, as the direction was lacking from the National Chairman, we had no other choice but to suspend Henry Onyekumnaru and his gang of the so-called bad boys of APGA South Africa. PAGE 2 OF 4 In response to an official communication on the suspension to Chief Umeh, he had requested our Chapter National leadership to serve justice with mercy and allow the suspended bad boys time in the party for necessary political education. Since such a plea was coming from our then National Chairman, we heeded to it and re-admitted the suspended Henry and bad boys back with the hope that they have learnt their lessons. The burial of our leader (Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu) which this chapter contributed immensly, the lack of leadership that we saw from the then National Chairman and the scuffle and distractions that confronted APGA South African chapter from the Henry and his bad boys, disrupted our schedule for the April 2012 national convention/election and that was a win for Henry and his bad boys who are hell-bent not to allow a popular election that will produce a democratically elected leadership of APGA in South Africa. As leadership demands, the Interim leadership of APGA South Africa under Comrade Odinaka Emejuru made compromises and rescheduled the National Convention/election for the last quarter of 2012 but Henry Onyekumnaru and his gang will still not want to be elected but insisted to steal power. They even applied name-dropping and all sorts of claims that Chief Umeh said this and Alhaji Shinkafi said that. They used all the names they can remember in APGA to ensure that we do not have an open election where, as card carriers of APGA, they can contest and get voted into office by the general membership of APGA in South Africa. By the end of the year 2012, when now Chief Victor Umeh finds himself having to answer too many question on his Chairmanship of APGA, Henry and his gang capitalized on the problems our party were having in Nigeria and, making sure that our scheduled convention did not materialized, went about claiming offices that does not even exist in the South African Chapter of our party. Today, swimming in self-deceit, Henry Onyekumnaru is referring to the only legitimate APGA structure in South Africa as imposters. To those who Henry may have communicated on this subject, we, the South African Chapter of APGA hereby request you to ask Henry the following questions and come back to us with the answers you get; (1) How did Henry join APGA? (2) Has Henry resigned his membership at PDP? (3) When he (Henry) struggled and caught Chief Umeh, did he then instruct him (Henry) to meet and register with the Odinaka Emejuru led APGA South African Chapter? PAGE 3 OF 4 (4) Is the APGA he claims to lead different from the APGA that is currently led in interim capacity by Comrade Odinaka C. A. Emejuru and if yes, what is his APGA South Africa’s registration number? (5) When and how did his APGA South Africa conduct an election or convention that produced him as a chairman? (6) When and by who is his APGA South African Chapter got inaugurated and at what venue? (7) If he (Henry) was once suspended and later re-admitted into APGA South African Chapter? (8) If he (Henry) still live in South Africa and what is his means of livelihood in South Africa? (9) If it is true that Victor Umeh instructed him as he claims to steal power from the legitimate leadership of APGA South Africa based on the media statement made by Comrade Odinaka Emejuru on MASSOB activities irrespective of the consequence? (10) If he (Henry) knows the legal and cost implication of what he is doing and the shame it is bringing to APGA? We, APGA South African Chapter duly request your candid investigation into this development and advice us on how best to manage this shameful conduct of a supposed one of us. We remain our brother’s keeper. Signed; Chief Peter Nwoye (Captain) Comrade Odinaka C.A. Emejuru National Secretary (Int.) National Chairman (Int.)
