Dangit, Korra, this is why I gave up on you. YOU gave up what made Avatar: The Last Airbender special and you became Dragon Ball Z. Lighting and the Avatar State were awesome, but the REASON they were awesome is the same reason that Lightsabers are so much cooler in the prequel trilogy: not many people could use them, and when they DID use them, it was when stuff was about to get serious. A hundred Jedi fighting in an arena looks fantasical. 5 Super Saiyans firing a Kamehameha looks gorgeous. But I stopped caring because it stopped being about the people and started relying on getting bigger and bigger with the visuals. Lightsabers stopped being so cool when they became commonplace, Super Saiyan just became a basic achievement expected of everyone, and now so much that was unique about bending has been paved over and given a power boost to artificially increase epicness. Overused visuals dont make things incredible and worth remembering on their own, they have to be supported by story and characters we care about. GAH. *End rant about ruined childhood*
