Daniel 11:23 After coming to an agreement with him, he will act - TopicsExpress

Daniel 11:23 After coming to an agreement with him, he will act deceitfully, and with only a few people he will rise to power. Daniel 11:24 When the richest provinces feel secure, he will invade them and will achieve what neither his fathers nor his forefathers did. He will distribute plunder, loot, and wealth among his followers. He will plot the overthrow of fortresses—but only for a time. It’s amazing how things are becoming clearer as we get closer to the rapture. I have been saying, for some time, that the “provinces” in verse 24 represent the internal battles within Syria and Iraq because they are both Shiite governments fighting Sunni opposition. The reason I know this is because the Middle East is the common denominator in the history of Daniel 11. Syria and Iraq cover ancient Mesopotamia, which has always been controlled by the ‘North’, so the Shiites must prevail in this case. Yet, they only “plot” against the “fortresses”, which sounds like to me, that they think about attacking rival nations in the South, but they don’t. Actually, the South beats them to it because they attack first in verse 25, below. Yet, not before the Shiites are victorious in Mesopotamia (Iraq & Syria).
