Sir, We are aware that entertainment arts like Music, Songs and Dances play a vital role in shaping our Society, and thus pose greater significance in Promoting Global Harmony and Prosperity. In Bhutan as well, Music has become a part of our Culture, Tradition, and plays an integral role in our daily Life. For decades, the overall Socio Economic development of the country has been guided by the Philosophy Gross National Happiness. Government as well as Private Stakeholders has been taking initiatives in Preserving and Promoting our Cultural Songs, Music and Dances (A pillar to GNH). Of late, with the advent of Live TV telecast, we are fortunate to observe Live Musical Reality Shows organized by different Groups like Bhutan Star, Little Star and Druk Star. Till date We Musician in Bhutan had been working very hard in keeping our traditional Music alive and has added newer taste to Bhutanese contemporary form of Music. It’s disheartening to learn that till now no Musical Copy Rights are being accorded and adhered to, nor market value in terms of price has been given for hard composed Music. For the Past Reality Shows we had given our hard composed latest Musical Tracks for the Live Performance as we shared common vision of Promotion of our Youths Talents in Songs and Dances. Our past hard works on Music Composition was primarily to mobilize the unexplored voices from nooks and corners of Bhutan. In this regard, we the existing Music Composers of Bhutan have come to a consensus in forming a Music Producers Association of Bhutan, to be registered under CSO. We the Music Producer of Bhutan has come into an agreement and as enshrined in our draft Association Constitution that henceforth should any reality show organizers needed Latest Musical Track for Live Performance, reasonable charges shall be applicable.
