Daufuskie Island is steeped in history, and is known for the Gullah people and traditions, but the Gullah people have been leaving the island for many years now, beginning during World War II. Long time Daufuskie resident, Lancey Burns, explains why the population has decreased so dramatically over the last century. As of today, there are only 2 original Gullah elderly on the island.
