Day +17: Look at these pretty numbers! Unfortunately kidney and liver results keep increasing :( Damo had a win with a drop of about 1kg of fluid yesterday so it is moving slowly, 11kg to go eecck. He managed to walk 2 laps of the ward yay. We were quite the site Damien pushing his IV and me carrying his oxygen bottle next to him. It is fantastic he has managed a short walk. You would think he had run a marathon as he has been sleeping since. A wanted to say a big thank you to some amazing friends and family that have helped me look after the kids so I can be at the hospital during the BMT. Being able to do simple practical things to make things easier for Damien, be there for the Dr rounds and give Damien support during some really horrible moments is so appreciated. Weekend #1 Kelly and Mark, #2 Michael, #3 Lisa, #4 Diana and Vincent and thank you in advance for #5 Michael and Bec and #6 Joanna. You guys have taken time out of your lives and some of you travelled great distances, made our children feel loved, made me feel like I am not alone and given Damien and I the opportunity to be together. I can not thank you all enough. Special mention to Toby who has done 3 days of care on his own and helped me during the nights. You have shown incredible maturity. I would not have coped without you. We are both so proud of you for stepping up and being the man around the house♡♡♡
