Day 5: Father, I thank you for your ability to make all things [ALL THINGS] work together for the good of those who love you, who have been called according to your purpose. Back then in Nigeria, I loved my job and enjoyed the ‘seeming glamour’ that ‘flowed’ with it. I was ever busy doing my own things as best as I could; traversing the length and breadth of the country. But, the OMNIPOTENT, OMNIPRESENT and OMNISCIENT God, who knew that a Shekau would one day recruit militants to besiege the North Eastern States spoke into the heart of my boss then [Sam Agha] and he offered me FULL scholarship to study in Britain – all expenses paid [travel, tuition, accommodation + stipends]. Na wah for dis kind provision o! [Jehovah Jireh]. Even when I tried to convince him otherwise, he turned a deaf ear to my pleas of staying back in Naija and ‘packaged’ me in such a hurry that I was only able to say bye-bye to my wife and son on the phone. Fear catch me, no be small. Before the enemies of progress could say JACK, I had landed in Britain. Today, eight (8) years after, the North East which was one of our key zones, has turned to a war zone. I thank God also for using [Francis Archibong] as an additional voice challenging me to stop being a ‘local champion’ in Nigeria and go ‘prove myself’ in Britain. Eventually, I gave in, but had my personal fears back then – approaching 40, additional academic qualifications were not my priority, but ego [money]. Again, eight years after, I can look back and count the innumerable BLESSINGS...... He is ever faithful – “Even when we are too weak to have any faith left, he remains faithful to us and will help us, for he cannot disown us who are part of himself, and he will always carry out his promises to us.”[2 Tim. 2:13].
