#Day 7 LOVE = GIFT + FRUIT John 3:16 says “For God so “loved” the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus said “God so loved the world...” He didn’t say, “For God so loved Israel...” which while reading Old Testament is quite visible. Hence, Jesus’ dying on the cross, resurrecting from the dead and ascending to heaven was the extreme pinnacle reason for us to live and grasp a life worth living in loving everything that has breath. Jesus loved the sinners but hated the sins. Matt Redman (writer of 1000 reasons) rightly said, “It is easy to please God, but hard to satisfy Him.” To PLEASE Him, in simple words means to follow him, to love him and to acknowledge him as the savior of our lives. But to SATISFY Him, again in simple words means; to LIVE according to what you say, believe, preach, sing, etc. So, here comes a BIG word showed by our Messiah through His living, preaching and even singing to the Father and has been taught to us from our forefathers from the dawn of time, sung by the prophets, now by the angels and hosts of heaven, i.e., “LOVE”. What is Love? (Ref. 1 Corinthians Ch 13). Love is the biggest and the greatest, the only Gift and Fruit of the Holy Spirit. Love is all about honoring your friends, parents and elders above yourself. The Golden Rule Jesus taught “In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets” (Mathew Ch 7:12). I say this sum up our religion and faith. Become wise and focus on how much you can give and become poor in thinking on what you are going to receive. This is love! Some Love-filled Medicines: 1. Love thy neighbor as you love yourself. For instance, I remember a time during my 12th board exams knocking at the doors. The Season of Christeen Retreat was just over, Exam Help Day being the last one on the first week of February. Hardly some 20 days were left. Confessions were made. Pure and holy, twas complete study time with the Holy Spirit. Parents were filled with joy as I decided studying. And suddenly, dad got a call; a relative’s going to come from Kerala seeking for a job and is going to stay at our place for the next some months. The person was a high time chatter-box. My siblings too were about to give their annual college and school exams. Belonging to a middle-class family and living in a four-room house, was difficult in accommodating. Yet I recall, my parents have maintained a tremendous way of life, from the dawn of time in teaching us, the most amazing “gift of hospitality”. Weve seen many, many relatives and guests invited through the doors and accommodated over the years. And later see all of them flourishing and getting settled in their lives. I prayed, ‘Lord, why this time?’ He said, ‘acknowledge the relative.’ We as a family acknowledged the will of God and were grateful. Exams were over. Results were out and I got the maximum marks of my life span. All the worries of the flesh offer it to the lord and convert them to blessings. Love thy neighbor! Praise God! 2. Learn to Defeat your enemies with love. Apostle Paul says, “What we know now is partial..”. Just like that learning to love is a forever procedure. To stick by love till the last breath is the biggest achievement for any Christian in this planet. Love should be the solid rock foundation stirred within every Gift from the Holy Spirit.
