Day 7 of the Glad Game: I dropped out of high school when I was a junior and never went back. When I was 19--while still living on the street--I took the GED test and passed. It took me until I was 29 years of age to complete my bachelors degree, working myself through school and mothering at the same time. I completed a Masters degree in psychology and systems design when I was 31. If I had stayed at home and followed the trajectory my parents laid out for me, I would have been done with law school and living a very comfortable financial life before reaching 30 years of age. I took the hardest path possible for accomplishing an education, and now Im glad I did... I made my first prayer while attempting to get my GED, and my prayer was answered. My spiritual path began through faith in adversity. Getting an education the way I did taught me so much more than the topics I studied...I learned the value of being a lifelong learner. I learned that no matter from where I started, I could learn anything (Even statistical analysis ;) ) I learned how strong my mind is--even under adverse circumstances--and how powerful the setting of an intention is--the way I got an education started from being a penniless street kid who intended to live a life with fulfillment and meaning. And I do. Im really glad I took this route
