Day 8: today I have been reminded just how thankful I am for the innocent hearts of children!! They are finer than pure gold!! As Eli and I were walking into school this morning a lil boy was slowing going in with his head hung low...the teachers were encouraging him...he stopped and faced the corner...so of course I couldnt just keep walking...I said, come on buddy, whats wrong? He whispers, my brother left me behind. I said, awwww its ok u wanna hold my head and go to breakfast with us? He nods his head yes....needless to say, he cheered up, held my hand the whole time in the breakfast line, say with us to eat, then left the cafeteria with us...I said,ok buddy Ill see ya later. He says,but can I just stay with u? I told him he could just walk with us to drop Eli off the. If walk him to his class...so indeed thats what we did...when we get to his hallway he wraps his lil arms around my waist and squeezes me tight then looks up at me and puckers he lil lips!!!! I kissed him on the head (cuz remind you all that he is, or was b4 this am, a stranger) and said, see ya later alligator! He whips back with this HUGE smile and screams, after while crocodile! Yes indeed my heart melted just a tad!!! He quickly turned and ran to his classroom....looks like Ive made myself a new lil friend :)
