ParkourDance is the UK’s first company to fuse the ethos and technique of parkour with the medium of dance. Currently supported by Arts Council England, the company will soon go into rehearsals for a new production, and deliver exciting workshops for the public in November. ***What is Parkour?*** Parkour (also known as freerunning) is the movement discipline of getting from point A to point B in the quickest most efficient way, using running, jumping and climbing, overcoming any obstacles in all environments. It’s a mind frame which allows you to overcome mental and emotional barriers through building strength, taking measured risks and facing fears. The intern will: support the company with their marketing strategies assist the Artistic Director with props and costumes document the work of the company through film, photography and blogs Proactivity, creativity and good communication skills are key. The internship will allow an enthusiastic individual to observe the rehearsal process of a professional company and experience the “behind the scenes” of a new production in the making. The intern will also receive one-to-one mentorship from the Artistic Director. You will be required to work +/- 8 days between 16th October and 4th November. Hours are flexible but you need to be available on Fri 31st Oct and Sat 1st Nov.
