Dear All, Tuesday, 29.10, the global justice magazine New Internationalist is hosting a workshop for KCL Amnesty International on the topic Banking on Hunger. We will examine how bad economics have lead to an increase in hunger in developing countries and how this results in human rights violations nowadays. The workshop will start promptly at 6.15 PM, in FWB 1.11, but we advise you to be there at 6PM to secure your places. After the workshop, we will all go together to the Waterfront for a social, where we will host a human rights pub quiz. The social will start at 8PM. You do not necessarily have to come to both activities, but we encourage you to do so. The workshop will be a qualitative and productive group activity that will provide us with general international awareness and the social will be an opportunity for us to get together for some pre-reading week fun. Also, we are pleased to announce that our new Secretary for 2013-2014 is Ceren Demirci. Ceren is a first-year undergraduate Law student, who is very passionate about human rights and Amnesty International`s projects.
