Dear Dad, Thanks for being there when I first opened my eyes, your were filled with glorified happiness,a big thirty two teethed smile sketched across your face and silent promises of my protection deep down in your heart. I know you were overwhelmed when I wrapped my little fingers around your thumb, gazing at you with unmatched happiness,I know you wished to be me hero forever. You were ecstatic when I stood on my chubby legs wanting to reach the ever so high sky,you too wanted to conquer it for me. You were there, snapping away with your old world camera, when I looked nothing less than silly in that little frock with that plastic tiara seating m guests which comprised of Mr. Teddy and Daddy for tea;you said I was already your princess whose every wish was your command. You promised to be there to always guide me on the right path-when once I walked off on my own on a crowded street during festivities, you swore never to let go of my hand ever again. You were there to pick me up when I wouldnt walk on the road because the dirt was sticking to my shoes, you didnt budge when I used your shirt to wipe my nose clean. You were there to ooh and aah at every significant parts in m stories, knowing lack of your attention wouldnt be appreciated;talking to me when I refused to cooperate with anyone else. You were there,at three in the night,to provide comfort and relief when my head ached and fever shook my body. You were sad to eat the burnt chapatis I rolled out, though you exclaiming how delicious the food was, adding smugly that mother ought to learn from meyou were growing up quickly. You were there to be the protective barrier when Mother was angry for not completing the homework or for not finishing my food;you never let her shout at me. You taught me how to ride a bike, wiping lots of tears always changing smiles to riots of laughter. You were there to fight,to tease,to laugh and to cry with me,always waiting in the shadows to catch me if I fell when I took off in the real ugly big world. You always taught me to stand up to what was right and true, telling me to stay out of trouble but at the same time guiding me how to land a perfect punch intended to break a nose. You stayed up late, waiting for me,when I was out with my friends, but fear for my safety never clouded the better part of your judgment. You trusted me blindly. You were always ready to go down at two in the night to get food for me,when the food at home wasnt interesting enough to satisfy my hunger. You were there to spoil me at every point in your life and yet,to make me the human being that I am. Making me stronger at every turn in my life, wanting and giving me nothing but the best, giving up on your own needs and wishes to give me better. No words can be enough to express and convey the love and respect I have for you. Thanks for being there always. With love, Your daughter.
