Dear Diary 22/08/2013 Age is a growing phenomenon, with me - TopicsExpress

Dear Diary 22/08/2013 Age is a growing phenomenon, with me anyway because the older I become, my mind stays at roughly 23 but forgetful. My mind still wishes above all else to take in information and to use it, though it deceptively takes a little longer. I also go bananas listening to all kinds of music as the mood take me; on the other hand I am a little dated for I have no clue as to the modern style or songs . With my music I put on headphones which transport me to seventh heaven and beyond, singing what I believe is the beat to the music whilst other strongly disagree It sad to see our Aunt Becky so quickly changing from a cheerful outgoing soul becoming almost completely forgetful, needing assistance in most things, grumpy and dottery beyond fun, still fiercely independent and yet slight frightened vulnerable wee woman. In reverse we feel guilty as we must decide about home residence, very shortly after we return from the cruise. So a cruise is a welcome fling being a first time experience for both of us. It has been indicated by persons in the know that mostly older people take cruises so we will fit in regardless. At one point we thought the seaward excursion was blown, not by us but by the Barrhead tourist Agency who phoned just on Tuesday mid-morning to inform us the private train, reputedly booked to take us to Southampton, had been cancelled. The very pleasant young lady explained how they instead would lay on a up to date, all the frills and extras luxury couch instead, reimbursing £100 each. One wee point was we would leave at 04.00 of the morning clock. It seems plain sailing the way I have written it, but it took quite a few moments for the situation to register. The long, short and tall of it, I generously declined their offer, stating precisely what I wished to happen or not only I would cancel the deal but expect my money back, plus compensation to boot because the coach trip was not fit for purpose and the company must have been aware of the circumstances several weeks back. I was willing to make other arrangements elsewhere, charge them for such preparations and on our return to do battle for my inconvenience plus our stake dosh. Rebecca and I agreed we would just motor off and pick a sea side where the most expensive hotel was, perchance Fernhill hotel, Port-Patrick, Loch-Lomond and party on expenses …………though boogying was not really our bag. Maybe, just maybe scoot over as I have a hankering to see ‘Holy Island’, and then casually cruise around the roadways of Arran using the Douglas Hotel as a base Luckily; they came through within a remarkable short period where we would fly down first class on the day the ‘independence of the ocean’ is due to put out to sea, transfers and airport assistance and the same on return. Compensation has been suggested however I will wait until we return to negotiate such a subject The only snag is the amount of luggage we can take might be restricted with internal flights which may force me to leave my new suit due to its fibre being a danger to navigation. Do you think ‘She who must be obeyed’ will swallow this?…………………..perhaps you are right Last entry until further notice -=-=-=-
