Dear ESPN and America, This is the exact situation that Stephen A Smith was referring to. Problem is, unless youre socially aware of the black community, you wouldnt know that this happens a lot. If you live in suburban Illinois youve prob never heard or witnessed anything like this. Its a reality in our world. I ask you am I not allowed to tell this girl and girls like her not to PROVOKE an ass whooping? Stephen A getting suspended from ESPN cuz you got your feelings hurt is ridiculous. Every rhetoric isnt meant for or towards every person. Its almost always specific. For all we know this couldve been the scene in Ray Rices elevator. Should he have knocked her unconscious? Absolutely not. But lets say she was acting in this way. Chances are it would have escalated to the point it did if she wasnt bring the aggressor. Soooo whats wrong with SAYING that? In voicing your opinion and trying to educate? Stephen A has always positioned himself and speaks from the view of a black man and a people. His life and his experiences. When he spoke on domestic violence it was framed around HIS community as it ALWAYS is. Nothing he said could have been misconstrued as its ok to assault a woman in any scenario but it was making sure women see the overall picture. Many females feel that men shouldnt hit a woman to the point that it gives them an all-access pass to wild out. Ladies, be ladies. Men, be men. ESPN, have a backbone!
