Dear Everyone, I dont usually post rants on Facebook an rarely ever post statuses, but I feel like I need to voice my opinion about an article I read about Soccer in the United States. It didnt hurt me as a soccer player, but it hurt me as an American. I understand that Soccer or football is not meant for everyone. It takes a certain intelligence and sophistication for one to play the sport as well as to sit through a game for 90+ minutes and be excited that your team tied. There is nothing wrong with not liking a sport of any kind, but usually not liking with such deep hatred comes from fear and not understanding it. I have read articles over the years about how soccer in America will never catch on, which could of been the, but I believe that soccer is getting more popular here and has in fact has sky rocketed during the 2014 World Cup. Within the next decade the United States Soccer will be bigger. I grew up playing the soccer since I was kindergarten. The fact that I gave up all other sports to pursue a sport that I truly loved will always hold a special place in my heart. Growing up I played for Region 1 a teenager and trying to strive to wear the colors of Red, white and Blue was always my goal. Even though I never got that chance to play with that National Team, I still got to play against the U-17 National Team several times while I was at Eckerd College. Those games will always be special games in my soccer career. I gave up a lot of my life in playing soccer, but I would never trade it for anything. As an American it is my duty to speak up when some one attacks soccer in the United States. Ann Coulter is an absolute embarrassment to the United States. She is soulless human being who has no idea what she is even talking about. The artcle she wrote made me absolutely disgraceful. Extremely inaccurate and unfair to the United States. Please U.S. Soccer win the World Cup because of Ann Coulter. Prover her wrong! #USAvsAnnCoulter #soulless #disgrace
