Dear Family and Friends, While we wait with the Woodard Family for Jaden to receive his new heart, the question is often asked, How can we help? While Chris and/or Betty are at Childrens Hospital with Jaden around the clock, the girls still need to be cared for and errands need to be run. Meal Trains interactive website offers us a way to rally around them and put our faith in action. Simply select a date(s) on the calendar that works for your schedule, you can see what specific needs is still open, commit to that time slot and provide whatever meal or service suits you best. Not much of a cook? No worries, you can also commit to providing them with gift cards or meal passes for the hospital. Jaden can have pretty much what he wants to eat at this time and I dont think that I know anyone that enjoys talking about food as much as Jaden. Viewing and sampling so many different meals from so many different families will also prove entertaining for him as well so please feel free to add something special for him as well. Once you commit to a date and meal service, that options closes out to everyone else so if something comes up at the last minute and you are unable to serve the family, please notify us asap so that we can make sure they are taken care of that day. Also, please be sure to specify exactly what you are bringing in the notes section to ensure we are not duplicating meals. *************************************************************** Allergies and Preferences *************************************************************** There are no food allergies for the Woodards. The kids all like: Broccoli, carrots, kale and potatoes, but request no green beans, peas or mushrooms. You can also safely omit spinach or anything that resembles is (except kale) from meals. **************************************************************** E-Gift Cards/Meal Cards **************************************************************** For out of town friends and family, Cincinnati Childrens Hospital does not offer an e-gift card but you are able to call in a payment for a meal card. Each card costs $5 and is good for one meal that can be ordered from the patient menu, including: •One entrée, or soup and sandwich •Two side orders •One fruit or dessert •One beverage Cards can be ordered by calling Guest Services at 513-636-5009. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 6:30 pm. Several restaurants now offer e-giftcards. Please consider purchasing meals and treats for the family that way.
