Dear Friends, Please view this tube in Tamil and then read my narrative below. youtube/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=f-wkDrvYwwo The first speaker Brother Seeman spoke emotionally of the plight of the women who are victims of rape and the miseries of carrying a child of the enemy. You may classify it as emotional rhetoric. He also pointed out that the Chief Minister had not made any comments on the rapes, murders or attack on Ananthi during the elections. The Hon. Chief Minister C.V Wigneswaran spoke on the difficulties he faced with Sri Lankan officials when the people in Tami Nadu demanded Eelam. His negotiation with blood-stained President Rajapaksa for a settlement for the Tamils within a united Sri Lanka is running into difficult straits. It gives the Sinhalese excuses and say the Tamils are dishonest in their will to live in a unitary state Wignes has been guilty in not being stable in whatever convictions he has expressed so far. Earlier he declared that India should attend CHOGM. When members of his own TNA criticised his view, his colleague, Sumanthiran released a statement that India should not go to CHOGM, and ever since then, that has become TNA policy. As a politician he should not place all his eggs in one basket. He is banking heavily on Rajapaksa yielding to his overtures and give the Tamils their rights and a space to find a niche in Sri Lanka. He is also expecting India to put pressure on Rajapaksa to yield to Tamil demands. To date there is no evidence on this. India will do only lip service and nothing more. The Sinhalese leaders also know this, as India is complicit in the Mullivaaikkal Genocide. They will continue to play a careful game until they establish a Buddhist Sinhalese Raj and the Tamils are subjugated. The Sampanthan, Sumanthiran and Wigneswaran trio will have to be mindful of the fact the people voted for the manifesto and not for anyone of them. Once they fail to deliver their promises, they will be thrown out in the next round, but then in the interim 4 or 5 five years would be wasted. That is exactly what Rajapaksa wants He is telling the so-called International Community (IC) that four years is not enough for him to resettle the people and give them their rights, but he has enough time to colonize Tamil areas with Sinhalese settlers. On all these the TNA is quiet. Please see the next tube (in English) on the servitude of the Tamils and the bravado of the Sinhalese on their victory over the Tamils. Here again, as per what Seeman said, a woman in the tube is carrying contraceptive pills in case she is raped. Navi Pillay has told the government that rape of Tamil women has attained serious proportions in Sri Lanka and she wanted the government to show zero tolerance towards rape of women. There is a believe among most the Tamils both inside and outside Sri Lanka that India and the IC are keen to save Sri Lanka from being brought to justice for Mullivaaikkal Genocide. It may seem absurd, why the IC should be involved in this venture. Careful examination will show they have reasons to do so. The two resolutions brought before by US in 2012 and 2013 in Geneva harped in implementing the LLRC recommendations and left out the UN Panel of Experts Report. Gotabaya Rajapaksa has already said that Sri Lanka fought Indias war, implying that India is complicit in the genocide. IC has its own agenda and that is long term geopolitics. Sri Lanka has every reason to be pro-Western as they had always been throughout history anti-Indian. Similarly, the Tamils had always been pro-India, as they look upon India as their Motherland. The Indian Ocean has become a focal point of commercial interests. It is the life line of Western countries, where 60% of the worlds shipping, especially oil, is carried past the ocean. From the Western point of view relationship with the Sinhalese is far more reliable than the Tamils, but they fail to realise Tamils love for Mother India evaporated on the banks of Mullivaaikkal in 2009. Sri Lanka hosts this years Commonwealth summit despite allegations of human rights abuses and war crimes. C4 News speaks to Simon Gimson, aide to Commonwealth Secretary General Kamalesh Sharma, who takes into consideration Indias interest more than that of the Commonwealth Please view this tube from Channel 4 (in English) before we proceed further. Simon presents an incomprehensible explanation on why Commonwealth should be in Colombo. He claims the Commonwealths aim is to lift up governments that are in trouble; yet Commonwealth suspended Fiji and Zimbabwe for reasons that would appear minor compared to Rajapaksas killing and raping of Tamils. If the Commonwealth goes at this rate, it will soon become irrelevant. Now coming back to Wigneswaran, he must be aware from past records that he will never be able appease the Sinhalese leaders. The fact that Tamil Nadu is sacrificing their time to raise their voice is a boon for him. The Rajapaksa clique knows the alternative for not coming to a settlement with the Tamils will be intervention by outside forces, but still they will stretch their luck further. Wigneswaran, telling Tamil Nadu that whatever they say affects his negotiation with Rajapaksa, is beyond anybodys comprehension. It only shows the Sinhalese dishonesty and the gullibility of Wigneswaran. They are just giving excuses for not giving the Tamils anything. It is just an attempt to silence Tamil Nadu, because it is becoming an oppressive force for the Rajapaksas TNA and its leaders will have to realise that no good will come to the Tamils in Sri Lanka if the Tamils in Tamil Nadu go silent. India has delayed its announcement on CHOGM on account of the upheaval in TN. Otherwise, Manmohan Singh would have gleefully accepted the invitation to CHOGM in Colombo long ago and he would have asked the Tamils in SL to go to hell. Even then the latest news is Salman Khurshid has announced that he will be going to CHOGM and possibly Manmohan Singh may slip in at the last minute. In 2014 TN will teach the Congress a lesson. The reason TN was silent in May 2009 with a few Tamil politicians making noise in the parliament was, there was no awakening among the Tamil masses. Karunandhini closed all the colleges and thereby prevented the students from going into the streets. The Sinhalese agents bribed TN newspapers with Chinese money and prevented the news from reaching the Tamil people. This enabled Karunandhini to perform pseudo fasts to cheat the public. Thus the trio, M.K Narayanan, Shiv Shankar Menon and Pernab Mukherji were able to shuttle between Delhi and Colombo to complete the genocide in Mullivaaikkal on 19 May 2009. It was the picture of Balachandran, killed in cold blood, that raised the blood pressure of the Tamil students and brought them into the streets in hundreds of thousands. Politicians realised that their game was up and they sought realignment. Anti-Tamil Congressmen and DMK overnight became pro-Eelam advocates. To contain the damage DMK dropped out of the Congress alliance. All these were unthinkable in 2009. For Wigneswaran to say that statements made in TN is making his negotiations with Rajapaksa difficult, is unwise. He must learn to negotiate with SL in spite of whatever statements made in any part of the world. If the Sinhalese refuse to continue the negotiations with TNA, we can presume they have no desire to settle the Tamil problem. On the other hand Wigneswarans persistence in wanting the TN to be silent will be interpreted by the Tamils, as he is serving the Delhi agenda. As it is Wignes has enough in his plate. His taking oath in front of the Tamil blood stained Rajapaksa has irritated many Tamils. Some claim he was trying to appease the Sinhalese president; there are others who think he was working under Delhis instruction. Whatever the reason he is still answerable to his voters, if he fails to deliver the goods. TNA had swept through the elections in the NPC. Now it should move fast to ameliorate the suffering of the Tamils. The 50,000 Tamil widows will have to be settled in their homes and provided sustenance. It is shameful when we hear some of them sell their bodies to keep their and their dependents bodies and souls together. Many Diaspora Tamil NGOs have moved in to help them, but the NPC will have to take the situation under their control. The prisoners of war and those arrested on suspicion of aiding the Tigers should be charged or released. Who else can provide them legal assistance other than TNA? Land grab and colonisation are matters of immediate concern. Instead of TNA engaging themselves in infighting and out-fighting, they should attend to these matters as a priority. Visvanathan
