Dear Friends and Family, As most of you know, we adopted our beautiful daughter Hannah from an orphanage in Haiti on January 19th, 2010, one week after the earthquake. Leading up to that time, between 2004 and 2010, Jerry and I traveled to Haiti over 50 times. We would fill our airplane with food, medicine, doctors, dentists, fruit trees, rabbits, clothes, water pumps, teddy bears…whatever was needed and whatever would fit. We sold our plane last year. Yep, I miss it…but it was time. We had it for 10 wonderful years and it took us to amazing places. One of those places being Haiti. This year is our 10th anniversary that we have been traveling and helping Pastor Henri and Gladys take care of the children in the Canaan Orphanage in Haiti. We will be going to Haiti on April 18-20th, traveling on a commercial airline this trip (not too excited about that), but very excited about our first trip visiting Haiti as the Lowenstein Family! It will be Hannah’s first trip back since we adopted her 4 years ago!! We will get to see the new nursery under construction, the fish farm that we envisioned (Pastor Henri said, “When the moms come with their malnourished babies, they leave with a fish.” I think last count they had 430 fish!)… these amazing things that YOU made possible by donating your time and resources and attending the Path of Promise Gala last November. As we plan this trip, we have been asked, What can we give you to take to Haiti? What do the children need? So with all of your kind generosity, we are collecting items directly requested by Gladys to bring in suitcases and duffle bags (see below). We are leaving on our trip, April 18, 2014, so if you have items to donate please contact us and we will make arrangements to get them. We will be sending a container for larger items. And as we start planning our next Path of Promise Gala, the Second Annual, we ask you to save the date…Saturday November 8th 2014. Please come!!! Serve on the committee!! Be a sponsor!!
