Dear Friends: so many cool things happening and I dont know where to start. I am so Humbled as of late and so Grateful. Okay, I will start with my Rock Star Super Honey. Last week, I hear the PT is doing stairs with him. Okay, little Ms. Proactive/OCD wife contacts Elliott Rubino. Hey Elliott can u help with a bannister in case the PT wants Ron to use it. Jeez, in two days this beautiful Soul puts in a gorgeous pine railing on the upper level of our split foyer home. He even makes sure the ends go into the wall so that Ron cant catch his sleeve on it! And he adjusts the garage door to stop the blasts of cold air and fixes the towel holder in Rons bathroom. Shout out to Elliott- I LOVE YOU! Please give him a Community shout out as well. Now, back to the RSSH (Rock Star Super Honey). Yesterday I hear he has walked both sets of stairs using the spiffy new bannister! All the way from the kitchen to the basement. And then? Push ups on his stomach on the basement floor to work that left arm. I was stunned. Then today? I left the house as Ron started walking up from the basement using the quad cane. I just cant watch....I get stupidly nervous and dont want Ron affected by that energy. Final report card: he climbed both flights of stairs TWICE! Smokin! Then on to some strength work at the kitchen counter. This was followed by a quick lunch, speech therapy, and then Occupational Therapy. After a full hour of walking and exercising with OT, she says do you want to go downstairs. And Ron says yes. She starts walking with him towards the stairlift. And Ron looks at her and says, I will walk down myself! OMG! I knew Ron was a healing warrior, but that is really digging deep! Getting this news at home just stunned me. I LOVE Rons therapists (BIG SHOUT OUT TO Amy Smith OLeary who works magic and puts up with Rons yelling) and I really Love my Husband. We spoke of it over dinner. I dont know if I would have that kind of dig deep inner strength. Ron says we simply do what is needed. Maybe so..... Just wanted to share a couple of happy moments and not do it at the end of the day when I am pooped. Ron is off to hyperbaric oxygen therapy tomorrow with a South Park CD for entertainment. I will be shackled to the house completing much- needed paperwork and hopefully setting up an MRI. Such is the balance of Life. And what a Gift.
