Dear GCAS Community: We would like to provide you with an update about the goings on at GCAS as we continue developing our school and organization. What sets GCAS apart from other schools is that we are absolutely committed to public free education. We are not a business that looks to make profits off of students or faculty; rather we believe we should empower students, faculty and researchers for creating a better future. This goal is not easily accomplished, and takes time. We are making great strides to accomplish this task and we thank you for supporting us. Because we advocate for free education, we are more than a school we are a movement seeking to unite organization, institutions, think tanks, universities, workers unions, farmers unions to form a resistance to neoliberalism that has compromised democratic movements the world over and neutralized the peoples ability to govern themselves. To this end, we are pleased to inform you that we have formed partnerships with four likeminded organizations: The Center for Bangladesh Studies; Krytyka Polityczna in Warsaw, Poland; The National School of Cinema in Madrid, Spain; Instituto 17, Mexico City; and Design, Architecture, Art, Planning (DAAP) school at the University of Cincinnati for our Summer Berlin Course directed by Rebecca Weisman. One another front, we have made many strives forward over the past few weeks and are excited about sharing these with you. We have met with several university Rectors who are keen on partnering with us on every level, from the BA to postgraduate (MA/PhD). One program will be put together by September 2015, which well make public once the details are worked out. The other programs will follow and some of which may well be available by September 2015 too. Finally, we have built into our website the ability to conduct courses in a very organized and pedagogically sound way. In the next ten days we will have all our Spring courses available for all to see and sign-up for. Please go to this link for this information: moodle.globalcenterforadvancedstudies.org/ Thank you for supporting the birthing of a new school and organization that is so needed today. Yours in Solidarity, The GCAS Organizers
