Dear Nova Scotia Twig Members: This year’s Word on the Street Halifax Book and Magazine Festival takes place on Sunday, September 21, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Queen’s Landing next to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in downtown Halifax. The Nova Scotia Twig has been assigned Booth No. 36, which consists of 1 table and 2 chairs. This will be a terrific opportunity for us, as editors, to showcase our services to writers, publishers, and other potential clients. Anne Curry and I will both be there to talk about editing services and to showcase members’ promotional material, such as brochures and/or business cards. But we are also looking for other volunteers from the Nova Scotia Twig. We need assistance with set-up (8-10 a.m.) and takedown (5-7 p.m.) and would like to divide up the task of manning (womaning) the booth into three two-hour, two-person shifts (11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1-3 p.m., and 3-5 p.m.). Please let me know if and when you are available to help out. Also, please deliver any promotional materials to one of us by Friday, September 20, or to Booth No. 36 by 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 21.
