Dear Smith Enterprises, Inc. (I would have tagged you but I already unliked your page), As someone who is a M14 rifle fan, there are few who appreciate the work you have done to breathe life back into and improve Americas last wood and steel battle rifle. The work you have done under Federal contract for the Navy and Army is impressive (that Vortex flash hider, mmmm). A while back you changed your profile picture to a skull that looks remarkable similar to the Waffen SS deaths head skull. I chalked that up to ignorance or coincidence and pressed on with my life. That being said, earlier today you posted the below picture along with a rant about Al Sharpton (who I think is a disgusting race-baiting worm/profiteer). As soon as I read the post and saw the picture you used, I immediately thought, Ohhhh bad choice, bad imagery, bad, bad, bad... I commented on it and said something along the lines of I know what you mean about Al Sharpton, but you may want to pick a better or at least less controversial picture, the image of monkeys juxtaposed with black Americans plays into the liberal medias conservative/ gun owner stereotypes. It may not be what you meant, but its what it looks like. The media would have a field day with it the next time you go up for a contract. I then sent you a private message with the same concept, being sure to point out I am not a politically correct liberal asshat who gets his feelings hurt easy, I dont think you meant anything racist BY it, but it looks bad. Your response? More or less telling me that you dont give a shit for [my} opinion and that you dont owe me or anyone else who might get offended by this a reach around (for those of you who dont know what that is, I will spare you the details). You went on to say that I should feel free to unlike your page (done) and that you dont kiss anyones ass. Fair enough. Fine... THEN in response to someone ELSES questioning of the original posters decision making process, you challenged them to find caucasians rioting like that along with a paragraph long rant about blacks and how not racist the post was. That was enough for me. While I appreciate all you have done to bring the M14 family back from the dead, here is to me hoping you dont get another Federal dime, you lose your Canadian military contracts, and MidwayUSA, Brownells, Fulton Armory, and other distributors are forced to distance themselves from you and stop carrying your products.
