Dear friends: Andy, Ty and I will be traveling to a village near Cape Town South Africa this winter break with International Volunteer HQ. We leave on 12/13/13 and will be gone for 10 days. And dont for a minute think this white-knuckle traveler likes the idea that we are flying out on Friday the 13th....but with 37 hours of travel time I will have plenty of time to get more comfortable with flying. We will be taking a VERY large bag with us that we hope to be able to fill with gently-used kids and baby clothes, baby blankets, and small toys/school supplies. Andy will be teaching computer skills, Ty and I teaching and sports development in an orphanage/school. I will be checking Goodwill and the dollar store for low cost items to bring, but if anyone has some outgrown baby clothes or extra school supplies please know they will go to a great cause! We still have six weeks, but this time of year goes fast so thought Id put it out there... I appreciate your help, and your thoughts/prayers for safe travel for my boys via LAX, London/Heathrow, and Cape Town airports, and safety while in a very different environment than we are used to.
