Dear mom, I am sitting, waiting, at the edge of something so huge no words can contain it. With months I will become a mother, one of the best gift any woman could ever receive and also the hardest. It doesnt seem it could be 27 years ago that you welcomed me into your arms. Your first child on this earth, your first daughter. its me now mommy, the one thats going to give birth. Its not until now that Im learning, the love of a mother, your excitement, your joy, your fears, your worries. Everyday I appreciate you more and more and I thank you, thank you for teaching me to smile when I frowned. Thank you for teaching me to be strong at times of weakness. Thank you for staying strong at our families worst times. No matter what life brought to us you never showed weakness. You are the reason for who I am today. I have no idea how wonderful it is going to be. No matter how exhausted i may be after the delivery, when i hold that baby, i will know in a second how “worth it” it all was. And thanks to you I will find myself loving that baby with a fierce, joyful love i cannot even imagine yet. All I can ask and pray is that id be at the least half the great mother you was to me. I love you mommy so much more than you can even understand. But very soon I will begin to know more of what mother-love means.
