Dear percussion instructor/section leader, I hope this letter - TopicsExpress

Dear percussion instructor/section leader, I hope this letter finds you doing fine. I just wanted to d r o p you a few lines. When preparing cadences this year, please dont give the snare line all of the shine. During the cadences, or whatever, please make sure that the quints color the snare part or the BD Line. Please dont let the rest of the section goof off while the snare line has sectional rehearsal. Also make the cymbals do more than a whole note crash and then freestyle for 16 counts. I would like to hear your leg/chest tenor pull out some notes as well. Above all, lets keep it clean and groovy....it has to be groovy!!! Also, please dont hybrid-rudiment us to sleep. A double stroke roll at 140bpm(32nd notes) is just as tasty as hand to hand cheeses. We would like to see all of these solos you guys have been creating incorporated into a line as well. We would also like to hear dynamics(not just our favorite 2..loud/soft). We would like to see the drums as level as possible. We will also like to see the sheet music to some of your cadences. I think thats it...my pen is running out of ink. Thank You, Percussion Fans
