Dearly beloved the Bible say “So that thou incline thine ear - TopicsExpress

Dearly beloved the Bible say “So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.” (Proverbs 2:2-5) The higher God takes you, the more humble you must become. Humility and having a teachable spirit will keep your feet on the ground. It’s as though you are given a bunch of balloons filled with helium. The more balloons you are given, the heavier the weight must be that is tied to the end of it. Without a weight tied to it, the balloons will be lifted up. Without humility, our heart will begin to lift up. The higher you go in life the more humble you must become. Listening is a trait of a humility and asking questions shows that you are teachable. It’s a trait that God values. So often in Scripture we find that we are to incline our ear, to listen and to hear what God is saying. Even our natural makeup shows how much God values listening. We are born with two ears and one mouth. Therefore, we are to listen more and talk less. Never think you know it all. When you listen to the wisdom of the elderly, to your spiritual leadership and to those around you that tell you the truth, you set for yourself a safe path to walk on in life. In the multitude of counselors there is true safety. Bad experiences can teach tough lessons that wise instruction tried to teach us along the way. So join me as I pray Heavenly Father, I receive the wisdom to have a listening heart. I incline my ear to understanding and choose to listen to the people You have placed in my life. Thank You for always helping me to avoid pitfalls through the wisdom you send my way. Help me to remain teachable and humble in Jesus name.
