Death of a dream: reality. The breeder of the gelding of the Friesian Horse Association sent me an email. This gelding is in the Netherlands. Im a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist. Would I buy a dog without temperament testing, without seeing it in person, from any breeder? hell no. A horse especially has to be evaluated by a professional for temperament; they didnt geld this stallion for nothing. I imagine it might cost at least $50 grand to buy this horse, have it transported safely, trailered (if he can be trailered, who knows and theyre not going to tell me) and taken to a barn where I trust the people Im looking at a possible disaster. An expensive, heartbreaking disaster. I think Ive had my life fill of such. The death of a dream. But then, my most important dream ended in disaster, horror, a suffering I will live with my entire lifetime. How do I dare think I can have another?
