#DeepavaLiRecipes Hope you all are enjoying the recipes posted thus far in SATU and that we have aided in making your DeepavaLi a bit more special this year! Todays recipe is for Chana Magaj. Chana Magaj is made from kadalai maavu (chickpea flour). ---Chana Magaj--- :::Ingredients::: • 1/4 cup of milk • 500g gram flour • 2 tspn of cardamom powder • 250g chopped toasted almonds • 2 cups of ghee • 500ml of icing sugar • 250ml klim powder milk • chopped colored almonds for decorating (Optional) :::Method::: » Add 2 teaspoons of ghee into the milk in a pot and heat until it comes up to a boil. » Slowly add the milk mixture to the gram flour whilst mixing. It should resemble a bread crumb mixture. (You may add the mixture into a food processor for a smoother textured consistency.) » Remove the mixture and cook in a pot with the remainder of the ghee for ± 40 minutes on moderate heat. » Stir the mixture constantly until it turns golden brown in color. » Remove from heat and mix in the roasted almonds. Allow the mixture to cool completely. » Add in the klim, cardamom, and icing sugar. Mix well and allow to set in a flat pan or tray. » Decorate the top with colored almonds. (Optional)
