This is the second anime adaptation for Uesu following the 2012 TV anime based on his Hagure Yusha no Esutetika/Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero novels. The first volume of The Testament of Sister New Devil novel series was published from Kadokawa Shotens light novel imprint Sneaker Bunko on September 29, 2012, and the newest sixth volume is scheduled to be released on August 30. According to the novel series official site, the total combined print run of the novels and manga has reached 550,000 copies.
