Discussion Group Guidelines update: THE HUMAN CYCLE Discussion Group began several months ago and we are deeply grateful for the guidance that Professor Kittu Reddy so generously gives in our weekly video conferences. There is serious interest in this book and we are thankful that Kittuda’s authority on this material can be shared with so many. We also appreciate the very beautiful quotes that have been put up in this discussion group, however, we would like to add another dimension to this and that is this group is for the serious intellectual study of THE HUMAN CYCLE. And while we will be putting up some passages from the book, we would very much like to encourage you to read the paragraphs until you get a clear understanding of how to apply the material in your own life. This book is a very important because it will teach us to know ourselves both from the social point of view and from the individual point of view. In fact there are more than ten chapters in this book that deal with the individual psychology and fourteen chapters that deal with the collective psychology. One of the most important points for all those who aspire to the higher life is self- knowledge. You must be able to look at yourself, see the state of your consciousness and understand the powers and forces that are moving you and then one can make a change. So we would like to use the book much more from that point of view. While there are no objections whatsoever to the beautiful quotes that are being posted, the question arises that all those beautiful quotes contain a message and the point is how do we implement the message within ourselves? That is possible only if we know ourselves. So, merely posting the quotes will not lead us anywhere. We propose to study these chapters together and then try to know our own selves so that we can implement the message in our daily life. This being the purpose of this discussion group, again, we strongly encourage those that are seriously interested to carve out the time to read the material and to raise up questions and then we will try our best to answer them. It will mean a very serious study for all of us. To reiterate, we request that this space only be used to ask questions pertaining to the book, the live sessions, or as a place to share how the current material is being implemented in our life. Please do give suggestions on how we can make this a most productive endeavor for us all.
