Disunity looms Ogun APC. Amosun to dump APC for Accord Party. The Ogun state faction of the All Progressive Congress, APC has again suffered a gargantuan disunity among the rank and files of the party leaders, mainly from the incumbent Governor Amosun of the state faction and the faction of the former Governor of the state, Chief Olusegun Osoba. All effort by the party big guns in the state to settle the scores between the duo ended in a retrogressive condition. Our correspondents reported that the meeting held last friday to settle the rift ended in chaos. In the meeting with some selected APC leaders which also include some PDP decampees, the governor made it know that he has made up his mind to dump APC for Accord Party. He told the meeting some challenges he has been facing in the APC and how some leaders expected him to be prostrating about for them before he can get second term ticket he said instead of that he would rather defect to another Party, he said in 2007 only him bankrolled ANPP when he was just a former Senator how much more now that he has served as Governor with money, power of incubency and with a lots of projects to showcase. The leaders at the meeting implored him to exercise patience as a Committe was set up to go and meet Chief Osoba with Olive leaves but Osoba has given 6 terms,first of the term was that he can never again sit with Amosun for any reason to negotiate or talk he said he does not mind if Olumide his son loses his election because of it. Before now, the South West governors had advised governor Ibikunle Amosun to find a way of having a cordial relationship with Osoba, but the governor turned down their advice. More reasons why the governor may dump the party, was that the overrall leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu was also reported to have been uncomfortable with the governor of the state. Just last week Sen. Bola Tinubu was overheard speaking on phone to an Ogun State Oba and he said all the complains Im getting on this your Amosun governor are too much.
