Do we use philosophy to consider all of the logical possibilities or simply to logically support our own presuppositions? Is philosophy really a tool used to discern truth or simply a way to support what we want the truth to be? The term Philosophy comes from Ancient Greek and is translated as, Love of Wisdom, but it seems to me that if we are only using it to support our personal conclusions instead of as a means to explore all of the logical possibilities and probabilities then we are not being very wise. Thoughts?
