Do you eat for the sake of eating ??? In western societies we develop eating patterns from a very early age based on emotions, state of mind, times and types of food groups that maybe considered healthy... The problems with this is we loose sense of our bodies true appetites as explained by leading health specialist, Janella Purcells. Which can lead to a cascade of phycological eating patterns that cause a decline in health and increase in body weight over time! Another problem with todays western civilisation is that we have lost touch on what the definition of nutrition is; its origins are Latin derived which mean FEED, NOURISH. Unfortunately we are straying more and more from our mothers naturally intended nourishment towards a chemical & laboratory facilitated dietary habit! Which for a fun facts sake, denies the true origins of the word diet.. Its origins are Greek and it means way of life... In knowing this I feel most of us can undeniably admit that our standard diets are not a nourishing way of life.... So whats the fix? Well firstly, I believe all people who eat a modern western diet would benefit from a higher alkaline food intake (Ph of 6.8 and above) which will leave your cells in a far better state (homeostasis) which allows for your bodily functions to be carried optimally! Even if your goal is purely to put muscle on and shred fat you will still benefit from creating a well oiled machine for lack of a better phrase in adding more alkalised foods which will better your physical and your even state of mind allowing for better overall gains.. Another tip I will give you Jp warriors is - chew your food... Yes, who would of thought the benefits of chewing are as immense as they are! Practice chewing your food 20/30 chews per bite and this can help your body naturally alkalise your food, improving its digestion and assimilation as well as regulate appetite by using more senses to register satiety!
