Do you know that after cancer & heart disease, suicide accounts for more years of life lost than any other cause of death? More than 200,000 people will attempt suicide this year alone and 26,000 of them will succeed. In the U.S, every 20 minutes, someone commits suicide. Dont think that it could never happen to your family, because it can...its real...and it does. I know, because I am a Suicide Survivor. 17 years ago, my dad committed suicide. Its not something I talk about and for a long time I pretended that wasnt what happened. But it did, for reasons I will never know. It has taken many years, but with Gods guidance, I can freely speak about this taboo, without the feeling of shame. I woke up this morning to news that I thought I would never hear. One of my lifetime friends had passed away. This is someone who was larger than life! You never had to wonder what he was thinking, because he would always tell you...EXACTLY! We have been down many roads together, some long, some short, and many dirt! I will forever cherish the memories we made. Bubba, you will never be forgotten! To all of my prayer warriors, please help me to lift this family up in prayer. God knows exactly what they stand in need of!
