Do you need Management? A sort of silly question to me. You live with it, not just a question of need, like the elements of fresh air, i.e. oxygen, or water or a space to live on or live in, by Nature, not by choice, in fact. If you deny this assumption for Management, youre not true to yourself, never mind about how others look at you or perceive you, per se. Next, in what language you best immerse yourself in this field of Management, in your native speaking language or acquired language like English? This will be debatable. As we shall quickly see. Firstly, look at how often we make use of quotations thereby, and interpret them by translation, if necessary. Observe how often these same quotations are refered to by others, peoples and institutions, that is, those who speak for and represent them, and the textbooks, too. Secondly, observe how new concepts are created by whom, peoples from which countries of origin and in what language best written and expressed in or even translated into. Thirdly, there is no Nobel Prize for Management, and never will there be one. This is because this Management field is the backbone in all other fields, without which, a specific field wont be established or evoked or enhanced or innovated or distinguished. In a way, its embedded as an essential element in all fields of endeavor, like it or not. Its just like the EM, electro-magnetic field, present in all physical fields, which you have to take it into consideration in all calculations, however minor it influences. Fourthly, most people employ one or more Management concepts unconsciously, or even inadvertently. When people do use the concepts consciously or at will, they actually prioritize Management as a subject of discussion in the foreground, while keeping all others at bay or in the background or as supplements. Finally, the concepts of Management, have existed since time immemorial, but became concretized or theorised in modern times, by eminent people who shape them up to ease the understanding, conscious implementation and perpetuation among peoples of the world. On this score, all of us are simply unpolished jewels and will be subjected to grinding by universal education and thereby being polished over time. Some by exponential rates while others by cavalier attitudes. Where most people gravitate to in seeking this unique Management field to enhance themselves? You tell me. Even in Asia, where there are centers of High Management Studies, if you probe into them further, most if not all concepts under scrutiny, are derivatives of all of Western origin.
