Do you wan to hear the worst nightmare I ever had? Oot asked me last night. I nodded and went next to sit next to him. I was cuddling momma in the bed, he said seriously, And then the moon rose up behind me. The moon had a face. A big smiling face. This voice was low and monotone. Then it reached out to me with one little arm. Then it reached out to touch me with the tip of its finger. It was as tiny as the tip of a carrot. And then it touched me. Oot just lay there in bed, staring off into the middle distance. I waited for him to say something else. He didnt. He just stared. That sounds pretty creepy, I said. It was, he said, still staring off into nothing. It was the scariest nightmare Ive ever had in my whole life. Well, I said, Im glad the real moon is friendly. Oh this moon was friendly, he corrected me. It was smiling. You can tell by the smile. And its rosy red cheeks. So yeah. That happened. For reals.
