Do you want to be recognized as an overcomer? Perseverance produces overcomers. Think about what the book of Revelation prophesies about overcomers: He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life,but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels! (Revelation 3:5) And thats not all. The same chapter goes on to say, He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God..and I will write on him My new name (Verse 12). And thats still not a complete picture of an overcomer. God further promises, To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne (Verse 21). Can you imagine a position better than that! Personally I want to be an overcomer, dont you? An overcomer makes a definite decision, just as Jesus did in the Garden of Gethsemane. He know all too well the torture that lay ahead. And He naturally began by praying, Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me. But the Lord did not stop there. He added, Not My will, but Yours, be done (Luke 22:42). Perseverance is Jesus hanging on the cross, bleeding from His hands, His head, His side, His feet. Below boiling skies, blacker than a thousand midnights, our Lord lifts His blood-caked face toward heaven and shouts, It is finished! What is finished? The plan of redemption that began in Genesis 3 is finished! Death, hell, and the grave are finished! Disease and sickness - finished! The guilt of the past - finished! The fear of the future - finished! The power of poverty to crush your dreams - finished! The Light of the World has crushed the prince of darkness. Satan is finished. He is defeated and Christ is Lord - and of His kingdom there shall be no end. Remember that perseverance is a decision. Its a decision that every winner makes. People who persevere do it anyway. As Kent Keith says: You will find that people are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered, yet you love them anyway! If you do good, you will be accused of selfish motives. Do good anyway! Success will win you false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway! The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shot down by mental midgets with the smallest ideas. Think big anyway! What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight! Build anyway! People need help but may attack you for offering your hand. Help them anyway! Giving the world the best you have may get you kicked in the teeth. Give the world your best anyway! Be persistent! Never…never…never give up! Remember what Grandma Bertha said, Its always too soon to quit! Be blessed and bless somebody else today. #Faithoverfear
