Does anyone else have an acd that doesnt like to be touched in the hindquarters area by strangers but loves being petted by people? Today I took my 4 month puppy to the vet because she had uti symptoms. I had to take her to a different vet because mine was booked up until after Christmas and I didnt want to wait that long -.- so at this vet my puppy was okay until he check her mouth/teeth. One of her baby teeth cracked and she growled when he touched it. He kept touching it an yelled at her to stop growling. Then touched her kidney area and she growled and again he kept going and cornered her. She had a vet appointment Monday and was completely fine being touched. The vet told me that I needed to take her to training classes because she is aggressive... Now I have been taking her to training classes/obedience since she was 10 weeks old. But out of no where she started growling. Ive been constantly working with her and socializing her but any advice on to keep her from growling? Im pretty sure shes scared from this vet trip getting yelled at and cornered by the vet. She NEVER had a growling problem before and was fine Monday. Shes on antibiotics now and her baby tooth will be out soon - I have a feeling those are affecting her and someone keeping applying pressure didnt help either if she was in pain. But advice on how teach her its okay for strangers to touch her. She was fine just Monday and enjoys being petted by strangers but now Im worried about vet trips and grooming and idk. -.- maybe it was just the vet.
