Don Bosco to Don Cagliero and the first Salesian Missionaries: Do what you can; God will do what we cant do ourselves. -- 145th Salesian Missionary Expedition (ANS - Rome)–On Sunday, 28 September, the missionaries of the 145th Salesian Missionary Expedition will receive the missionary cross from the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime. Later, they will sent out from Valdocco, the center of the Salesian world, to go all over the world to educate and evangelize. The missionary celebrations will begin on the afternoon of Saturday, September 27th, at Colle Don Bosco, with the Harambee, an event sponsored by VIS, the International Voluntary Service for Development, and by the Salesian Mission Animation movement of Italy. It is intended to bring together young missionary leaders and the volunteers who spent their summer vacation working in developing countries. The highlight, however, will be the Mass for the 145th Expedition, at which the Rector Major will preside. It will start at 12:00 (GMT + 2) in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians. The Mass will be broadcast live streaming on diretta.missionidonbosco.tvand on sdb.orgwith a delayed showing at 18:00 (GMT + 2), on the satellite television channel Telepace. Twelve missionaries of the Salesian Congregation will receive the mandate. They have come to Turin from all continents and are being sent to all the continents. They began their Orientation Course in early September at the Generalate in Rome and now they are completing it in the Salesian places. They will be joined by some Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and lay volunteers. From the time of Don Bosco to the present, about 11,500 Salesians, 3,500 Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and several hundred volunteer missionaries have received the missionary cross at Valdocco from the Rector Major. About 2000 other Salesians have also been sent directly from their Provinces to mission territories. -- infoans.org/1.asp?Lingua=2&sez=1&sotsez=13&doc=11367
