Dorien goes home on Monday! Yesterday the procedure went perfectly. The surgeon did not have to put any additional stints in Doriens airway at this time! Dorien will undergo this same procedure every three weeks for the next several months, but this time all went very smoothly! Other good news: Dorien passes the swallow study for eating solid food! Tonight Dorien got to eat his first meal in more than a month. He still aspirates liquids, so I still have to supply his fluid requirements and medications through his g-tube, but he can eat food again! Yah! Dorien also got the last IV and the big PICC line removed today! He has finished all IV medications and all procedures that required the IV, so those were taken out today in preparation for him going home on Monday!
