Dr. Marimba Ani lists those qualities of Afrikan women which speak to good character. Afrikan women of character must: 1. Be life affirming 2. Be in partnership with Afrikan men 3. Be a political organizer 4. Function as part of a collective 5. Exert influence 6. Speak for the Ancestors 7. Be an advocate for Afrika 8. Be a mother who does whatever is necessary to protect her child(ren) 9. Teach 10. Be a healer 11. Represent the community of Afrikan people 12. Represent the stability of the Afrikan family 13. Maintain and pass on Afrikan culture 14. Organize and direct the Afrikan market, enabling our people to understand the spirit of economic exchange ad distribution of our resources 15. Be a scientist of the sacred 16. Be a spiritual leader 17. Be an intellectual 18. Be Divine There is no doubt that an Afrikan woman exhibiting these qualities is in supreme standing in our community and holds an honorable place in the Ancestors hearts.
