Driving down a street in Tijuana we see a slow walking figure ahead. As yomara & I got closer we both said oh my god. We jumped out of the car & ran to the dog. He had spiked rusted wire, chains & something like a collar with clips hanging around his neck & clinking against the pavement as he dragged along. He had clearly just been attacked by other dogs. Several times. Puncture/bite wounds all over his face and neck - bleeding from the new wounds and rotting, oozing infection in the other. His ears - my god. Just take a look. Watch the video. Yomara & I had no idea what to do. We knew we had to get that off of his neck. We knew we had to help him. Then what? We had already spent any money we had on Sebastian today as we had just been to his vet. I had my little bit of personal money to get back to the US on. What do you do? Walk by this dog ? Leave him? No. No way. Where do we take him? How do we get him there ? With what money? The first vet we tried looked at the dog as if she was disgusted and turned us away. (I have a photo of myself giving them the finger I will happily put in the comments of this post) The 2nd vet took him but we quickly realized was only because Priscila knew him. We were lucky. He charged us a crazy amount. I used the little bit of money I had in my pocket. Hes safe for 5 days in boarding. He received 3 antibiotic injections. He has a 103 degree fever - he has mange. Infected puncture wounds. Fleas. Ticks. He is completely emaciated. What other infections I can only guess. We will find out tomorrow hopefully more info. Boarding, food, shampoo/medicated baths for his mange & several antibiotics paid for, for 5 days. People ask all the time how can someone just walk by a dog and leave it like that Well we didnt. But now what ? What do we do next? How do we pay? We didnt walk by him - are you going to? Or are you going to help? I am directly asking for pledges. I dont know what else to do.
