Drummer Jeff Porcaros account of what it took to get this basic track of one of my all-time favorite songs is epic. One of the last Dan tunes recorded without a click track (JP counts it off with his sticks), and not exactly a user-friendly chart (at least for the drummer). The upshot being what we hear here apparently employed one or two edits from the separate takes that had gone on into the wee hours after the actual Dan (Don & Wally) had given up and gone home.
