Dwarka-- The City of Lord Krishna and one of the most ancient holy cities of India was one of the 7 sites or Khetras (power fields) from which one can attain moksha (nirvana). It was attacked on the night of 7 September 1965 by Pakistan Navy under Operation Dwarka. Itwas chosen for its proximity (200 km from Karachi Port) and thus it was justified as a pre-emptive strike. The Pakistani vessels fired at the main temple of Dwarka for more than 20 minutes. The ships fired around 50 shells each.
